A Very Good AUD For 1976
First St. Stephen since October of '71... going into Eyes. Good Lazy > Supplication. Jerry is in excellent voice for High Time ... one of the better versions IMO. Nice 2nd set overall. You have to move your EQ levels quite a bit to get it just right. Like many AUDs, the midrange needs to be almost totally cut out. But if you can balance it, you will be very satisfied with this clean, low gen audience recording. I have to agree with chenner. It could be the best audience recording of the year.

crazy fingers
For me this concert stands out most for 'crazy fingers' which was a little less known to me and a great rendition. The early 70's will always be the quintessential dead so this being mid-70's I found it interesting to see their changing styles with the obvious Blues for Allah influence which was introduced.
It is true that if you're interested in a perfect sounding recording this isn't your tape. The audience can at times be overwhelming. However, if you lay down and relax the recording has a very warm feeling and you feel like you really are lost in the crowd, if not always the music. A great show with great songs but then, isn't that a given?

Voices
I love this show because the vocals are so clear, Donna is very laid back (no screaming) and pretty much in tune. Jerrys vocals are strong. This is one of my favorite shows since I discovered this site. I find a new one every week. 76 is sounding like a great year. I also love the crowds reaction to St Stephen. I wish I was there.

I am a 50 yr. old Dead vet and I am listening to Eyes as I write and I am loving it, one of the best......nice riffs and sound.....download it in lossless quality, it is well worth the wait.
Can't wait to unfold it and listen to the whole show.

Nice setlist, but...
It sounds like they're still getting a feel for being back on the road. It is interesting to hear St. Stephan. A nice mellow version with Donna! Similar to the Cosmic Charlie of June 4, which has much better sound, BTW.
Speaking of sound, it is poor--you can barely hear the vocals. A much better version is the one called "flac16 SBD/AUD Matrix."

Cow-bell heaven.
The "Dancin" has the best cow-bell solo in Dead history. Mixed perfectly for the cow-bell.

A True Gem
This show is outstanding from start to finish. Highlights: Cassidy, a truly sweet Crazy Fingers, Looks Like Rain is killer and They Love Each Other literally gave me the shivers! This show is simply splendid in every way I hope you love it as much as I do!

Excellent 1976 show
I have been searching for this one for a long time since my tape got stolen back in the 70's, all I could get to replace it was soundboard, which to my ears is'nt as good as the tape this guy made at the show. Nice aud recording of 6/9/76, my favorite of the 4 show Boston Music hall run, and one of the best from that year. The entire concert is played well, tight but with an effortless and trippy feel to most of the songs- standouts include "Saint Stephen", "eyes of the world" and "Let it grow" with a "Franklins tower" encore. This one and 7/16/76 are the two best aud recordings from 1976 up here- both are excellent shows and well recorded for the time. Thanks to the tapers, and all involved in making these shows available. Those who like aud recordings should check 'em out.
